Private perimenopause & HRT journal

A clearer record for your next GP appointment.

Turn scattered symptoms, cycles, medication changes, and notes into a calm, structured record you can actually use in a conversation with your GP.

£1.99 introductory price. One purchase. No subscription.

From memory to evidence

When symptoms keep changing, vague memories are hard to explain.

Firn keeps the daily detail together, then turns it into a concise GP report covering symptom patterns, cycle context, medication records, and notes.

What You Can Track

Keep the daily details together.

01

Symptoms and severity

Log what you felt and how intense it was, without turning your day into admin.

02

Period flow

Record cycle context alongside symptoms so history is easier to review.

03

Medications and supplements

Keep practical records of scheduled and ad-hoc medicines or supplements.

04

Notes and context

Add the details that matter to you, from sleep and stress to appointment prep.

The useful outcome

Walk into your appointment prepared.

Choose a date range and generate a practical PDF summary from your own entries. Share or print it when you want; Firn never uploads it to a Firn server.

Patterns, Not Predictions

See your own patterns — without predictions or pressure.

Firn shows calendar history, summaries, and timelines based on your own entries. It does not diagnose symptoms or tell you what treatment to choose.

Privacy Promise

Built without the usual health-app baggage.

Firn does not run cloud sync or upload your journal to a Firn server. Depending on your iPhone settings, Apple device backups may include app data unless Firn data is excluded from backups.

What Firn Does Not Do

A journal, not a diagnosis.

Firn does not diagnose perimenopause or menopause, provide medical advice, recommend medication, calculate doses, check interactions, or warn about contraindications. It is designed to help you keep a structured personal record.

Independently built

A focused tool, not a health-data business.

Firn is an independent, UK-built iPhone app by Oliver Downard. It has no account system, advertising network, analytics SDK, or subscription funnel. The price supports a useful product while your journal stays on your device.

FAQ

Straight answers for reviewers, clinicians, and users.

Is Firn a medical device?

No. Firn is a personal journal for keeping structured records. It does not diagnose, treat, monitor a condition, or make clinical recommendations.

Does Firn upload my data?

No. Firn does not run a backend for journal data and does not upload entries to a Firn server. Apple device backups may include app data depending on your iPhone settings.

Can I export my data?

Yes. Firn includes export controls so you can create your own copy of the information you entered.

Can I delete everything?

Yes. Firn includes local delete controls. Removing the app from your iPhone also removes the app and its local data from that device, while older device backups remain governed by Apple backup settings.

Can my GP use the report?

The GP report is designed as a practical conversation aid. A GP or clinician can review it with you, but Firn does not interpret it as medical advice.

Is Firn a subscription?

No. Firn is £1.99 at its introductory UK price. You pay once through the App Store; there is no Firn subscription.

Does Firn provide medication advice?

No. Firn can help you record medications and supplements, but it does not recommend medication, calculate doses, check interactions, or warn about contraindications.

What happens if I lose my phone?

Firn does not keep a cloud copy on a Firn server. Recovery depends on your Apple device backup settings and whether those backups include Firn data.
